About Prof. George Zafiropoulos
FRCS, MD (Orth), MPhil, DipMEd, FAcadMEd
Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Researcher, Author, Educator. Trained in the EU, UK and USA. Research on biomechanics of the musculoskeletal system, resulting in further training in Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, USA. Visiting Lecturer, University in Greece, where established a course on Biomechanics of Musculoskeletal System.
University Clinical Teacher for 15 years and Visiting Professor for the last 14 years. Lead of the Department for 15 years, played a key role in unification of hospital services creating one University Board. Actively involved in Medical Education, Research and Coaching of students and trainees. Team player having skills of time management, organisation and communication, committed to the goals.
Serving people with musculoskeletal conditions by using his skills as a surgeon but also by sharing the knowledge and conducting lectures and lessons to various groups of the public, in order to educate them about specific common musculoskeletal health issues. Speaker in a number of Scientific Conferences.
Wrote a number of multiple peer reviewed articles and papers published in Scientific Journals. Author of Scientific as well as Educational books as “Functional Anatomy and Biomechanics of the Musculoskeletal System” (in Greek), “Pain Management for Chronic Back Pain Sufferers”, “From Back Pain to Productivity: A Business Leader’s Guide Supporting Employees” and “Back Pain Management Guide for Haul Professional Drivers”.
